WORKPLACE CONFERENCING

In conferences in workplaces, there may be disputes or conflict that arise not so much between two parties but within groups. It may be a situation of management in conflict with a large number of workers, or conflict between two groups of workers in a large workplace. The issues can be cultural, long standing, and cumulative. The process of conferencing will look to discover about three major incidents that typify the nature of the concerns.  The conference facilitator will involve a group of people who are all affected by the situation. There is more than likely a history of poorly resolved or unresolved disputes. The conference invites all aprties to participate in talking about how these incidents affected them and what aspects of the issues seemed to indicate a time when things went wrong and then things changed from bad to worse, then finally it came to a point where something must be done. The participation in the process, is not focussed on blame but rather on taking ownership of a better way of thinking to produce better outcomes.
